Dadatello, the professional wrestler.

January 26, 2015

I'm am the undefeated, 365-time reigning LRF Champion. I know the Living Room Floor wrestling league isn't as popular as the WWE, but in our house it's huge! The kids come from all corners of the house to take on the champ. They try to sneak attack, they try to double team, they even try to use toys as weapons but they are no match for Dadatello. The Grownup Mutant Ninja Dad gets the best of them every time!

Okay, in all honesty I don't really call myself Dadatello very often but we do wrestle frequently. And when I use the word wrestle you should interpret that to mean I hold them down and tickle them while they laugh, scream, squeal, and try to run away. Of course if they do manage to get away, they run around for a second then just come running right back to have another round. I have all their tickle spots down to a science. The collar-bone and knees seem to be the places I get the best reactions. I also have a trademarked move called "Eat that neck up" where I pretend I am going to eat their neck. It seems to be a crowd favorite.

These are some of my favorite parts of the day. When we can just goof around together and laugh and be silly. It won't be too long and they'll get too old to want their dad to tickle fight them on the living room floor so I'm going to soak up every second of the fun while it lasts. Gosh I love those little rascals. I also need to enjoy the victories now because I'm out numbered 4 to 1. In a few years if they coordinated their efforts they just might be able to take me.

Here's a picture of the last time they all tried to gang up on me at the same time. I showed them who's boss. :)

I wouldn't bet they will be too old, soon, for a wrestle, I regularly get jumped by my kids (6, 11 and 15!), although less tickling and more just crushing dad :)

One of the joys of being a dad I think.

Ha! That's a great point. "Less tickling and more just crushing dad" That sounds about right. Love it! :)

I like the article. And I especially like the way the kid on top is looking at you like, "Why am I here? I don't belong here. Who are you people?"

My youngest gets that same look. Of course, when compared to his siblings, he has a legitimate point.

Being a father is amazing. Thanks for sharing this with us. The collar bone is definitely a tickle hot spot. 4 to 1 is going to be tough to deal with for sure!

First of all I love your mask! And I can imagine what fun it is to do living room wrestling! The photo tells it all and your kids are lucky to have a Ninja turtle and wrestler at their disposal!!!! What fun:)

Great post. I love this. Love when two 'gang up' on me. Always ends the same way your picture does. Oh and fab picture....Although the youngest does look like "yeah I did this and you're next" I'd be worried

That "mask" is actually a pair of glasses. It's pretty funny. We have some some good times wrestling around! :)

Sunshine Dad · January 27, 2015

You're right, he does have that certain look in his eye. :)

Sunshine Dad · January 27, 2015

Ha! He does have a funny look on his face.

Sunshine Dad · January 27, 2015

I'm going to have to stay in shape so I can still take them when they get older! :)

Sunshine Dad · January 27, 2015

Ha! You're so right! His facial expression is definitely one of confusion.

LifestyleswithLia · January 27, 2015

Oh I see! Great glasses indeed:)
