Kid Speak: I love you
Today I was letting my 3 year old watch some TV so I could pick up around the house a little without him getting in the way. I was suddenly overcome with the urge to let him know I loved him. So I walked over to where he was on the couch and said:
"Greyson, I love you."
He immediately perked up and his eyes filled with excitement. I just knew he was going to reciprocate my love. Then he blurted out:
"Where are you going?"
Ha, I guess I must always tell him I love him when I'm going somewhere. I got a little closer and leaned in:
"Nowhere, I just wanted you to know that I love you."
With that, he slumped back down on the couch, his excitement was gone and out of the corner of his mouth he mumbled:
"Can you move to the side? I can't see the Wonder Pets...And could I have some goldfish?"
Wow kid, you sure know how to warm a dad's heart. Apparently he was only excited because he thought I was leaving. :/

Kids are so cute... And say the darnedest things....
That's cute, I enjoyed this post, made me laugh. My oldest daughter is now thirteen, you will have plenty of heartbreaks coming your way from you children, lol, but its all worth it.

I am curious to know how the teenage years are going to play out. I hear a lot of horror stories but generally I enjoy teenagers. I'm looking forward to it. (The teenage years, not the heartbreaks)
Hahahahahah save for 21st story!
Kids there honesty can be brutal sometimes, but really can you blame him who want to miss out the Wonderpets. I think many of adults do this with the TV sometimes too!
Haha! Cant say I blame him. You interrupted his show.
Thank you for tossing your hat into the ring at the Party Under The Big Top! I hope to see you again next week!

LOL...that's so funny! My three year old is usually very warm and loving but if I get in the way of her TV show, watch out!
Bwahahaha! You've gotta love that "Second Child" and the things that they say or just happen to come out of their mouths! Sounds like something my youngest would say today and she's almost 14!
As always, thank you for linking up to Party Under the Big Top, the #BigTopBlogParty! So happy you were able to join in on the fun this week!
Wishing you a fabulous week!

Don't worry the comments only become more cutting as they get older. You can go from feeling like super dad to worthless in less than a second. Are kids great!

From the top of the mountain to the bottom of the pit in one short sentence. Why do they have the power to do this?! And still we love them . . .
Ha, you are so right. It's a crazy roller coaster ride. And we love them to death!
