Funny things my kids said this week
Like most people who have little kids will tell you, they can say the craziest things sometimes. My kids are no different. They are always making some off the wall and usually funny comment. It also seem that the crazy second child, Greyson, is the biggest culprit. I decided this past week I was going to immediately jot down in my phone anything good that they said so I wouldn't forget it. I'm notoriously bad about thinking I will remember later what they said and then forgetting. But this week I was good and wrote them down in my phone right away. Here are the best quotes from the Smith household from last week.
After 10 minutes of a silent car ride:
Greyson: "Hey, Dad."
Me: "Yeah?"
G: "I wish I was riding on a dinosaur that doesn't bite."
Me: ".......uh....ok"
Not another word was spoken for another 10 minutes.
-------------------—-
After picking him up from the bus stop and walking home:
Cooper: "Dad, can I go to the same school again next year."
Me: "Probably. What if you didn't go to school at all and stayed home and I taught you?"
Coop: " No, I don't want that. You're not even a teacher, you're just a daddy."
---------------------------
While at Lowe's picking out some herbs and vegetables for our garden:
Caroline: "What plant do you think you want?"
Greyson: "I want a pizza plant"
-----------------------------
After we got home and were planting the herbs into the garden, my wife told Greyson he could eat a mint leaf if he wanted:
Greyson: "Will I die?"
Caroline: "No"
G: (After eating it) "Hey, you're right, I didn't die!"
---------------------------------
When he was supposed to be in bed, we could hear footsteps from downstairs:
Caroline: "Why are you up?"
Greyson: "Mommy, I need to tell you something"
C: "What?"
G: "Ummmm....ugh....I guess I don't have anything to tell you."
-------------------------------
Our boys caught a toad a while back and had been feeding it grasshoppers but hadn't been able to find any recently:
Me: "You need to go catch some more grasshoppers for this toad you caught or I'm going to let him go."
Greyson: "It's fine, I'll get him some more for Christmas."
----------------------------------
That's all we had for this week and I feel like it was a slow week. What funny things have your kids said recently?
I hope you all have a great weekend and please keep voting for me if it isn't too much trouble by clicking the image below.

A pizza plant! You all can grow anything in Florida!
Awe! So cute :-) I want a pizza plant!
I'd love a pizza plant too!
That dinosaur one made me actually laugh out loud. My son, Conall 7 said "everything’s worth a try except jumping in a volcano or crashing on the motorway". Btw your family is so cute, that photo with the two in a cart is gorgeous.
Wise words from Conall :)
Thank you!
I'd pay big money for one, that's for sure!!
Me too! I wonder if I could somehow prank them into thinking we had one....hmm.....
It's so hot here the pizza would sprout up already cooked!
Bwahaha! "I'll get him some for Christmas." That Greyson cracks me up!! One of the funny stories I can recall off of the top of my head was a few years ago when my daughter was nine years old, she is 14 years old now, asked me, "Mommy do I have ancestor's?" I couldn't help but laugh as she was totally serious and had no idea why I was laughing. A precious memory for sure.
Oh and by the way... I kind of sort of nominated you/challenged you to a blogger thing. You can see what I'm talking about in this post >> http://www.welcometomycircus.com/2015/05/five-photos-challenge-day-1-what-a-jackass/ Hope you don't take that road trip to come kill me now! ;-)
Much love,
Lysa xx
This is an absolutely hysterical list! I especially liked the dinosaur comment...kids say the cutest things.. I'm glad you wrote these down to show your son when he's older!
Thanks Lia. I'm glad I wrote them down too, or I would have already forgotten them.
[…] trip back to Lowe’s to get some herbs and vegetables! (This is where Greyson had his infamous “I want a pizza plant” […]
Hi there,
These conversations cracked me up! Hahaha
I'm a father of two little boys and they always say funny things to me.
I don't have a blog, but I have a Facebook fan page where I post everything.
Please check it out! I believe you will like it. The page calls: Lucas & Luis
Cheers!
"You are right, I didn't die." Or did I?!?! Cooper is always talking about death or killing and he has no idea what it really means. They just know it's bad. Funny how quickly kids puck up on that even though they can't totally grasp it.
good call on the pizza plant
These are hilarious! I always wish I;d remember to write down the outlandish things my kids say!
Love it! Can't wait for my tot to start speaking. Really looking forward to the chuckles and blog fodder!
Cute! They do say the funniest things. And sometimes the weirdest things too. Like really weird. I have to start writing down the things my son says to me because you are right, you forget if you don't. #brilliantblogposts
Love this! My kids like to say things like poop and pee and then laugh for 10 minutes. Popping over from #BrilliantBlogPosts ;)
Love this so much, really can't wait until my little one starts talking, they're so interesting Haha. #brillblogposts
These are so funny! I always have to put these things in my phone because I definitely would forget by the time my husband gets home. I just love how incredibly entertaining kids can be!
Hilarious! Glad toad has a good Christmas to look forward to!
Kids are so funny - its the combination of saying something hilarious but being so serious in the delivery! If you find that pizza plant, let me know! #brillblogposts

These are hilarious! Personally I liked the "Mommy I need to tell you something." Because let's be honest--we knew right then he didn't have anything to tell her. Just like they're never actually thirsty. :)
It's so true, as soon as he said it I thought "What nonsense is he about to come up with now?"
I might retire wealthy if I stumble on that plant!
Ha awesome - they really DO say the funniest things! Although I would love my own pizza plant :) Mim x #brilliantblogposts
It's so fun to keep track of the funny things kids say! I keep journals full of the hilarious things mine come up with. Such a fun post!
Love this! They really do say the funniest things. I'm like you and totally think I'm going to remember what they say, then forget so well done for writing it all down! #bigfatlinky
haha, love the mint leaf comment! #BigFatLinky
haha they're adorable! I love the grasshoppers for Christmas line! My son recently said to me: "Mama I'm so proud of you...*pause*...for not doing poo poo and wee wee in your panty." #bigfatlinky
Haha! Yes good job for keeping your pants dry! Kids are funny :)
Haha brilliant!! Who doesn't want a pizza plant? Do you know of the Linky #ftmob your posts like this would really suit it. Your kids are as funny as mine. Thanks for linking up with us on the #bigfatlinky hope to see you there this week.
Forgot to add: if you're interested in the from the mouth of Babes linky let me know and I'll tweet you an introduction if you don't already know about them.
I don't know about that linky, I need to check it out!
Thank you for sharing, and I agree that Grayson had some pretty unusual things to say. They were very funny though! I hope when my child starts talking he will say such wonderful silliness.
